About Us

In 2002, City of Peace Enterprises, Inc. (COPE), 501(c)3 a community development corporation of Shalom Ministries Christian Center, was birthed through the vision of Dr. Florida T. Morehead to mitigate the educational, economical, and social divide within the community.

As a way to address the growing concern, COPE developed strategic and meaningful partnerships, such as with Glassmanor and Flintstone Elementary Schools, that fostered growth and empowerment for youth, their parents, and the community-at-large.

Through these partnerships, COPE introduced the “Parents as Partners” program that encouraged and supported parental involvement in their children’s education. In addition, COPE sponsored “Back to School” festivals that provided book bags, school supplies, as well as, food and family fun.

COPE continues to develop partnerships with a variety of organization and agencies; thereby fulfills its most important goals; empowerment and holistic well-being.
